Pratt Institute and New York City became the 'base' for six inspiring years.

A whole generation of European artists settled in and around New York after WWII. These were teachers of Tone Aanderaa. With students from all over the world this multicultural environment was openminded and a truly vibrant time and place to study art. Museums and galleries with treaures beyond her wildest imagination stirred on a love for art history that will always remain with her.

Artists and teachers such as Rudolf Baranik, Gillian Jagger, Susan Heuman, Dimitri Hozzacostas and Rolf Fjelde were only a few of those she'll always feel immensely grateful towards! "They opened doors I barely dared hope even existed... now they are part of my everyday life. Especially will I always think of Rudolf Baranik as my special mentor, with his profound blend of humor and serious perspective on life and human existence."
