Detail of the young boy throwing stones
The deer hidden by the mist

This is one of the three ’transitional paintings’ Tone Aanderaa made. She started with them when leaving America in 1989, and completed them when arriving in Norway till her father died in 1991:

"Stone Thrower" has a long "visual story" – starting in America and continuing as Tone Aanderaa settled back in Norway. It is probably also the biggest inspiration for the 3D animation for Secret Garden home page – with the "Moon Gate" as starting point

It is all about the mystery of it all - for her - it contans both her half-sisters, her mother - and her - and the "mist" of the future - but you would never know looking at it ...

"Stone Thrower" is now hanging in the Waiting Room of Voss Hospital.
