Tone Aanderaa's Belgian atelier is in the little village of Ste-Marie-Geest, in the French-speaking part of Belgium, near Jodoigne, Tienen and Leuven. 'geest' means in Flemish 'spirit'.

Tone prepared the 2007 Art calendar - inspired by 'Det store Puslespillet' ('The Big Puzzle') her novel published in 2004. The 2007 Calendar Year happened to become one of the most poignant and important years of her life; and so she wanted to continue this - even make it a tradition?

And now they are appearing; 'The Ladies in Waiting', the 'Art Sanctuary Ladies' of the 2011 Calendar; 'Ste-Marie-Geest' being one of them.
