This tree is being used as a central piece throughout the website of the wonderful music group Secret Garden, in the magical 3D animation on their DVD, and finally in a beautiful light show on stage during their performances.
Another version of this image is published in the very tasty "Epleboka" (apple book) by Astrid Grønsnes.
... and now, through the magic of the virtual world Second Life, this tree has become a real fairytale tree, moving in a virtual breeze, and changing colours with your touch! It borders the main walkway of the Art Sanctuary, the site created by Tone Aanderaa and Ignace Clarysse in Second Life using her paintings.
A tree is such a charged symbol - with so many references in myths and stories; Idunn, the Norse goddess of love, comes to mind; Hardanger, the "apple garden of Norway", being my ancestoral home, it seems only natural.
