Johild Mæland is a pictorial artist and decorative painter from Utne, Norway. Since 1979 she has practiced the old handwork techniques of rosemaling, wood graining, and faux finishing. Most of her decorative work has been commissioned and includes chairs, trunks, cupboards, beds, doors, stairs, entire rooms, and exteriors walls. She uses traditional methods, but it is also important for her to create by her own expression. She composes a special design for each project.
