The Hardanger region is situated in the south-west of Norway, a 150 km from Bergen.
Hardanger is the fruit garden of Norway cultivating large quantities of apples and cherries. The steep orchards are situated between the fjord and the mountains. The soil is not only fertile for fruit trees it seems also for artistic expressions. Grieg is one of the well-know Norwegian composers spending a large part of his life in the Hardangerfjord region.
