Aud Bækkeland's works are like fleeting thoughts, impossible to catch, impossible to catagorize. Melancholic and poetic. They are playful, intuitive, and simultaneously reflective and incredibly detailed. With qualities seemingly impossible to combine her work appears to avoid definition; Works refusing categorization - simply existing by the force of their absurdity and nakedness. Her major was textile, which through the years has evolved to a most exciting repertoire of materials and techniques, in works both two- and three-dimensional.
